Since Windows 2000 and still in latest Windows 7 people all over the world continue getting Print Spooler service errors of different kind. Have a look on various Print Spooler errors in Windows 7 operating system:

You can fix all listed problems using given instructions or using Printer Spooler Fix Wizard – award winning utility:

Download Fix Wizard

[Red Cross] Connect to printer
Windows cannot connect to the printer
Operation failed with error 0x0000007e

First try using special Hot fix from Microsoft:

Hotfix 981070

Manual solution for such a problem should not be difficult. Most commonly this is driver issue. A lot of people don’t even know what kind of system they have. The matter is that drivers for 32-bit system and 64-bit are different. Of course, you have standard Windows 7 drivers, but, first of all there are not all the printer models have pre-installed drivers, second thing is that pre-installed drivers are not always the best. There can be several years since they were released and built-in Windows 7. Vendors usually update their drivers regularly and you always need to download latest ones from the web. So, to fix this error remove problematic printer from “Devices and Printer” (right-click and choose “Remove device”) go to Support and Downloads section of your printer vendors website (example: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html, http://usa.canon.com/cusa/support/, http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/SupportIndex.jsp) download driver for XP, Vista or 7 (make sure it is 32 or 64 bit) and reinstall the printer driver. If that won’t help you can try System File Checker.

[Red Cross] unable to install printer.
The print processor does not exist.

On Windows XP or 2003 you can try one of those fixes (depending on what OS you have):

Hotfix 906752

Hotfix 835609

In Windows Vista or Windows 7 this can be a problem with installing necessary print processor on your PC. In this case you can try to install your printer to other PC. If it will be successful locate folder:

%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\spool\prtprocs\w32x86

And copy the contents of that folder to PC which has this problem. Try to install printer again.

[Red cross] Operation could not be completed (error 0x000006ba). The local print spooler service is not running. Please, restart the spooler or restart the machine.

To fix this error use Printer Spooler Fix Wizard or try instructions here.

Download Fix Wizard
